Lime & Coconut Sugar Iced Tea

This iced tea makes a perfectly refreshing accompaniment to a weekend brunch or any time you need an antioxidant hit in the form of a cool drink. Using coconut sugar in this recipe has some added benefits over refined sugar, it has a low GI and plethora of trace minerals and a malty flavour profile.

INGREDIENTS

2 tablespoons of organic loose leaf black tea, try Tea Blender’s Breakfast.

600 mls pure filtered water

3 teaspoons of coconut sugar

2 small limes

ice to serve

METHOD

 

  1. Place loose leaf tea in a large tea pot or 2 bamboo & glass tea infusers. Pour in boiling water and brew for approximately 4 minutes.
  2. Strain tea.
  3. Stir in coconut sugar until dissolved.
  4. Juice 1 lime and add to tea, stir well.
  5. Allow to cool, then place in fridge to chill.
  6. Cut up remaining lime for garnish and add ice & serve. Use our edible floral ice cube recipe.
